Hook-up "Culture", Rape, and Abortion. A Common Link?

Does rape dispense the mother from bringing a child to fruition? Rape, we argue, does not. The simple reasoning is that it is never licit to take an innocent life. I wish to propose, however, another more auxiliary argument. When a society deems licit the use of contraceptives and abortion there is a tendency to indulge in something that past generations found reprehensible, using the traditional term, fornication. We will call it here, sexual immorality.

Humans are made for society, and our neighbors' customs play a role in our formation to varying degrees. For example, if your neighbors invite you over to a party where most give themselves over to drunkenness you are more likely to partake and even tacitly deem drunkenness licit. Another may also be invited with a different formation and background and deem drunkenness by alcohol licit but go on to even deem harder drugs permissible. The latter may proceed to place others in danger due to the lack of control hard drugs cause. Now let us apply this observation to sexual immorality.

A Self-Indulgent Party

James just enrolled into a certain university and the social circle in which he happens to find himself exalts sexual immorality of various forms and to varying degrees-- pornography, fornication, promiscuous dress and talk, and the like. Now James is skeptical of such self-indulgent and dulling behavior so he observes carefully. He notices some who are more disciplined control their urges from getting out of hand, others he observes, place themselves in situations that are scandalous and even criminal but allowed in these circles.

What we have is a social environment where certain dangerous characters can be fermented. Apart from the social environment, there are also the tools that make this environment more accessible, for the apparent costs of participating in them are reduced by contraception, birth control, sterilization surgeries, and abortion. So who exactly are these characters? Among them, notably, are rapists.

I will qualify that social environments (including digital ones such as forums, social media groups, influencers, and the like) that permit sexual immorality and promiscuity, as well as the use of the "tools" we mentioned, are not the only cause of rapists. Nor that rapists are not morally culpable because they are simply products of peer pressure. Only that, call it, rape culture, is catalyzed by the "sex culture" that tends to defend abortion.

So how does this observation relate to our question, "Does rape dispense the mother from bringing a child to fruition?" My wish is to bring the pro-abortionist to something more foundational, to a root cause of the atrocity of rape. We claim that the promotion of sexual immorality and promiscuity by the support of abortion is such a root cause. Indeed, promiscuous cultures it appears from common sense observation will increase the likelihood of crimes like rape just a society given to drugs will increase the likelihood of overdoses. So, not only is abortion immoral, even in cases of rape, because innocent lives never enjoy a breath of fresh air, but also because it promotes sexual vices that can ferment criminals like rapists.
